Full Job Description

We are looking for a reliable Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws. You will be responsible for enforcing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace. As a safety manager you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. You will be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety. Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of a positive safety culture along with profitability/productivity requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Advises safety director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
  • Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.
  • Maintains safety files and records
  • Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
  • Assist, set up and conducts training.
  • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
  • Prefer experience in OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent Computer, communication and training skills


  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities (at this time)


  • Three to five years minimum managerial experience, training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have a minimum of an OSHA 30 (510 or 500 is PREFERRED)
  • Must have acceptable current driver’s license

Flux Core Welder

-Looking for certified welders with a AWS D1.1 and/or D1.8 certification.

-Must be able to run NR 232 Flux core/innershield wire.

-Must be comfortable with working in elevated areas.

-Must possess Physical strength. High levels of energy are also necessary to be able to perform welding duties. Moderate to high levels of stamina are necessary, as well as a high physical strength since it is required to stand, kneel, crawl, bend, squat, crouch, and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.

  • Responsible for installing and erecting structural steel members to form skeletal structures in order to form buildings, bridges, stairs, canopies, and other structures, following safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Welds and cuts steel and interprets blue prints.
  • Install iron or steel girders, columns, and other construction materials to form buildings, bridges, and other structures.
  • Erect and place structural steel members to form skeletal structure (columns, beams, joist, and girders) such as buildings, stairs, canopies, guard rails, bridges, towers, and fences.
  • Direct operation of cranes to move structural steel and other materials onto and around the construction site.
  • Connect steel columns, beams, and girders with bolts using sleever bars, spud wrench, joist chain or lever hoist while following blueprints and instructions from supervisor.

Salary: $19.00 to $24.00 /hour

Construction/General Laborer


Nexus Steel is hiring for general laborer positions.

Responsibilities include performing firewatch to an assigned area to observe ongoing hot work to identify and react to hazards. Also assisting with hands on physical labor.

Applicants will be required to lift up to 65 lbs.

Must be willing to work 40-60 hours a week.

Nexus Steel offers performance raises as well as benefits after 60 days.
